            RANDY HOFMAN   -   SIGNS OF ASSATEAGUE

"Heaven seems closer from Assateague Island. The white sand earth is on borrowed time. Temporary like us. It's easy to commune with you creator on Assateague. Life on the verge."

   Randy Hofman began oil painting at age eleven. After growing up in the countryside between Washington and Baltimore he studied art at Pratt Institute in NYC. Family vacations brought him to Ocean City Maryland every year until the early 70s. In 1974 he began painting for the summers in OC. By 1978 the Eastern Shore became home. Crowds on the boardwalk know him since 1981 as the biblical sand sculptor. Collectors are discovering a shared love of our local light and landscape through Hofman's vision of Paradise. He and his wife Marilynne live in Ocean Pines.
